Forum Activities
 

The South Gloucestershire Domestic Violence Forum is dedicated to working to combat domestic violence using every available opportunity in line with its stated aims and objectives. To this end it has a flexible work programme which is subject to change when need arises. The following work programme is the current list of activities. For more information, to get involved in any of our actions or to suggest further areas of work contact the Domestic Violence Co-ordinator.

Ensuring the completion of actions which the Domestic Violence Forum is already committed to namely:


  Short Term Aims:   S.G.D.V.F.Actions

  Production of a leaflet and its dissemination

  Implementation of the referral procedure

  Updating of the directory of resources  
 
4
  Production of an induction pack for new forum members  
 
5
  Production of a document setting out the member agencies' policies on domestic violence  

  Medium Term Aims:   S.G.D.V.F.Actions  
 
1
  Implementationof a wide ranging information campaign to: raise public awareness of the issue and provide information on services available. Including developing a mobile exhibition and a web-site

  Continued work towards the provision of outreach services through out the area ( starting with the pilot at Patchway Bradley Stoke and Filton)

  Co-ordinating training days  

  Long Term Aims:   S.G.D.V.F.Actions

  Research into possibility of further work and investigating good practice

  Auditing the needs of those experiencing domestic violence in the area

  Developing a method of consulting with survivors  
 
4
  Facilitating a bi-annual conference  

  Continuous   S.G.D.V.F.Actions

  hold regular meetings of the Forum

  hold regular meetings of the following Sub Groups: training/education, publicity and promotion, reporting and referring, outreach support.

  Encouraging the involvement of voluntary agencies in the forum
