The definition
of Domestic Violence adopted by the
South Gloucestershire Domestic Violence
Forum is:
"the use, attempt, or threat
of violence, whether physical, emotional,
sexual, mental or economic, within
an intimate and / or family relationship.
It reflects and reinforces inequalities
of power within relationships and
within society"
South Gloucestershire Domestic
Violence Forum
The Forum is a partnership of voluntary
and statutory agencies that are committed
to taking positive action on domestic
abuse.
South Gloucestershire Domestic Violence
Forum believes that violence against
adults and children is a crime, and
recognises that those experiencing
domestic violence may require assistance
from a number of agencies.
The Forum aims to: 1)Reduce the
incidence of domestic violence within
South Gloucestershire. 2)
Ensure high quality services to all
those experiencing domestic violence.
3)
Provide a co-ordinated approach to
domestic violence service provision.
The Forum
can Provide:
1) A free comprehensive directory
of resources for agency use.
2) Support
and advice on all aspects of domestic
violence.
3) Referals to a number of
member organisations.
